Vannessa Smith

Vannessa is an Assistant Vice President within the Professional & Cyber Solutions practice, advising clients on emerging technology-driven risks and building bespoke insurance programs. Vannessa’s experience across property, casualty, and specialty lines insurance provides clients with a wide-ranging perspective to comprehensively address technology and cyber risks across the entire enterprise.

Before joining CAC, Vannessa worked on both the brokerage and carrier side of the commercial insurance industry. Most recently, Vannessa lead the team responsible for new and renewal business marketing for Cobbs Allen nationally. Prior to joining Cobbs Allen, Vannessa was the marketing manager at Berkley Southeast Insurance Group, a WR Berkley Co. for the Alabama territory.

Vannessa is a graduate of the University of Alabama Culverhouse School of Commerce with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management. Vannessa is currently pursing a Juris Doctor degree from Birmingham School of Law and will graduate in May 2021 with honors. In additional to her undergraduate and post-graduate studies, Vannessa holds a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation, and is currently working on her Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation.
