Nathan is the Vice President within the Surety Department under Natural Resources, focusing primarily on the renewable energy sector.
Prior to joining CAC, Nathan was the Surety Account Executive at Brown & Brown. During his time there, Nathan worked with renewable energy developers, contractors, and owners to build out robust surety facilities. He worked closely with counterparties such as public utilities, local planning boards, and solar module manufacturers to get them to accept surety bonds for the first time as an acceptable financial assurance mechanism.
Nathan is the President of the Surety Association of Oregon and sits on the Professional Development Committee of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP). He also teaches courses on renewable energy bonding and commercial surety for the NASBP’s Surety School. Nathan also had an article published by Surety Bond Quarterly on bonding solar projects.
Nathan graduated from University of Oregon with his B.A. in Mathematics and Theater Arts. He also received his MFA in acting from Roosevelt University. When he’s not working, Nathan likes to play chess and work in his woodshop, but mostly he plays with his two small children who have taken over all of his free time
