Justin Sharp

Justin Sharp joined the CAC Specialty Natural Resources team in May of 2022 as Vice President within the Power & Renewables practice group. Justin brings a deep passion for building the future of clean energy and the integrity to provide for client’s strategic needs and best interests.Justin began his career in renewable energy in 2011, starting as a Project Manager for Calor EnergyConsulting. During his time at Calor, Mr. Sharp oversaw $7+ million in grant funding from the FederalDepartment of Energy and North Carolina State Energy Office being invested in energy efficiency and small-scale renewable projects at universities, municipalities, and commercial/industrial buildings.In 2013, Mr. Sharp was chosen by E4 Carolina’s Executive Director to participate in the 20-person inaugural class of E4 Carolina’s Emerging Leaders program. Throughout the program, Mr. Sharp acted as chairman of the Steering and Logistics Committee where he facilitated tours of IOU power plants, clean technology manufacturers and engaged with executives across many corporate entities.In addition, Mr. Sharp co-founded Shift Equity, an early-stage project development and environmental commodities brokerage firm in Charlotte, with two partners from Calor. In his role as Managing Partner, Shift participated in theCLT Joules Accelerator program, and Mr. Sharp excelled in business development and corporate management duties. In 2014, he was awarded a Charlotte Business Journal ’40 Under 40’ award for community involvement and professional accomplishment. Mr. Sharp received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a focus on EntrepreneurshipManagement from University of South Carolina in May 2008. He holds a graduate certificate from AuburnUniversity in Forest Finance & Investments.
