John Ritter joined CAC Specialty in February 2023 as a Senior Vice President for the Risk Control practice group. John brings with him 34 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in risk control, construction, mining, and oil and gas industries.

John began his working career in the construction and mining area of Gillette, Wyoming in the early 1980s. Before joining CAC, John served as the Senior Vice President of Risk Control for Willis Towers Watson. He began as a Risk/Safety Manager on State of Utah rolling OCIP in 1998 after working as a Regional Safety Manager for the Southwest Region with Ames Construction. He had worked for them when they bought his own safety supply installation and training company, Fire-Pro, which he founded in 1986, while attending the University of Utah.

John earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on marketing from the University of Utah, Rice Eccles School of Business. John holds several certifications in safety: CSP-Certified Safety Professional #18529, OSHA 502 (OSHA trainer), Mine Safety Health Instructor, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Instructor, HAZWOPER Instructor; as well as many other OSHA acknowledgments, i.e., Train the Trainer (confined space, forklift, excavation etc.). He is also a member of International Society of Mine Safety Professionals (VP Arizona Chapter), Chairman of the National Safety Council Executive Mining Committee, National Safety Council-supervising for safety, National Safety Council Food and Beverage Executive Committee, Association of General Contractors Mining Committee, N.F.P.A., ASSE.
