Jeff Samuels

Jeff Samuels joined the CAC Specialty team in September of 2023 as a Senior Vice President leading the Cannabis Practice, and Producer with a specialized focus in Enterprise Technology, Commercial Real Estate, and Emerging markets. Jeff has 15 years of experience in the high growth startup ecosystem with formative roles in the early days of insurtech.

Prior to joining CAC, Jeff was the VP of Sales at Founder Shield, the founding member of AlphaRoot, Cannabis Practice Leader at Embroker, and most recently a founding principal at Frontier Risk Group. Jeff has been named a “Cannabis Power Broker” by Insurance Journal and has spoken on “Insuring Cannabis” webinar series since inception.

Leveraging his passion for the business of cannabis, Jeff is a founding member of HillviewMed, a NJ medical cultivation company, where he is still an active advisor. Aside from building startups from the ground up, Jeff has a successful track record of early stage investing, advisory work, deal flow, and diligence as an LP with SoundBoard Venture Fund.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of Arizona, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Business Administration. Jeff holds a Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation, P&C and Surplus licenses nationally.
