Ellis McConn

Ellis is a Risk Consultant at CAC Specialty’s Energy Practice. Prior to joining CAC, he worked in the oil & gas industry as a Land and Business Development professional for Upstream E&P companies. He started his career in 2008 at Dynamic Offshore Resources where he worked as an offshore landman. In 2010 Ellis joined a management team that started Orca Petroleum, a privately held E&P company focused on developing unconventional assets in South Texas and the Permian Basin. He worked at Orca as the Vice President of Land where he managed the acquisition of new assets and executed profitable transactions for the company.

Ellis brings a unique perspective having worked in the Energy industry for 8 years prior to transitioning to Insurance. As a risk consultant Ellis analyzes, designs, structures and places complex risk management programs for upstream, midstream and oilfield service clients.

Ellis has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science & Global Business from the University of Houston. He has a Petroleum Land Management (PLM) certification from Texas Christian University.
