Brian Lu

Brian is a Senior Vice President in CAC’s Environmental Practice with over fifteen years of experience in the environmental and energy sectors in both senior underwriting and broking roles. He creates bespoke risk transfer solutions for complex transactions and has extensive proficiency working with energy companies, private equity firms, real estate developers, investment trusts, financial institutions, and industrial firms, and is an expert in crafting mechanisms and solutions for large global risks.

Prior to joining CAC, Brian held a similar position at JLT Specialty, working as Chief Broking Officer for the Environmental Practice. Before JLT, he led the Northeast Territory for Aon’s Environmental Service Group where he placed and serviced large portfolios for real estate investment trusts as well as significant private equity diligence and placement. Brian has also served in senior underwriting roles at Chubb and AIG.

Brian holds Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Economics and Philosophy from Rutgers University, and was named as a “Power Broker” by Risk & Insurance. Brian is licensed in 50 states for admitted placements and 49 states for surplus lines (non-admitted) business. Brian is also a charter member and former Membership Chair of the Associate Board for the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) – Northeast Chapter.
