Brian Hood

Brian is an Executive Vice President at CAC Specialty with 17 years of insurance brokerage experience and 3 years of experience as an underwriter. He has worked his entire career focusing on Directors’ & Officers’ Liability, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Crime and Kidnap, Ransom & Extortion insurance programs on behalf of his clients. He joined CAC Specialty in August of 2019.

Brian started his career as an underwriter with Kemper Insurance in NYC, ultimately moving to Axis Capital when his group was purchased in 2004. In 2005, he moved into an insurance brokerage position with Aon Corporation in Denver, CO. At Aon, Brian ran the country’s largest Executive Liability team with a focus on Fortune 500, technology, FI and distressed companies.

In 2014, Brian was one of the founding members of JLT’s expansion into the US market. In under 5 years, JLT US grew to over 400 employees and $125M in annual revenue before JLT was purchased by Marsh.

Brian graduated from Dartmouth College where he received his BA in Economics. He was also a member of the Big Green’s football and baseball teams. He currently lives in Evergreen, CO with his wife and two daughters.
