April Springfield

As Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel at CAC Specialty, April focuses on contract negotiations, legal operations, and regulatory compliance.

April has over 18 years’ experience in the insurance industry, serving most recently as Senior Vice President and Claims Counsel at CAC Specialty, specializing in financial lines coverage advocacy and insurance recovery for CAC Specialty clients.  Prior to CAC Specialty, April served as Vice President and Claims Account Executive in the Financial Services Division of McGriff, Seibels & Williams.

April received her Bachelor of Arts Degree, summa cum laude, in Psychology from Georgia State University. She earned her Juris Doctor and Health Law Certificate, cum laude with Highest Distinction Pro Bono Honors, from Georgia State University College of Law where she also worked as a student attorney in the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, served as a Graduate Research Assistant to Professor Paul A. Lombardo, and received numerous honors and awards including the Atlanta Bar Association Senator Paul D. Coverdell Tax Clinic Service Award and other awards for excellence in legal writing.  Prior to law school, April was a public school teacher for three years.

Outside of work, April can be found tending her vegetable and flower gardens, practicing yoga, and wrangling her 2 year old miniature schnauzer, Archie.
