CAC Specialty’s Private Equity Human Capital Risk Practice Expands Leadership Team

Feb 13, 2024

DENVER, February 13, 2024 — CAC Specialty, a leading insurance brokerage and advisor, announced developments to its Private Equity Human Capital Risk (“HCR”) leadership team supporting the company’s commitment to value generation and growth.

Erica Kasperkowiak will assume the position of Senior Vice President, Private Equity HCR Growth Lead, focusing her efforts on leading business development to support the practice’s expansion. This transition coincides with sponsors and portfolio companies facing greater challenges in the PE sector, increasing demand for expertise and innovative solutions.

“We are deeply grateful to Erica for all of her contributions to the team and for building our practice to its robust position today,” remarked David Payne, Chief Revenue Officer at CAC Specialty. “Her efforts generated substantial value for portfolio companies, investors, and employees, supporting companies in their post-close transformations and addressing critical employee benefits challenges and optimization opportunities. We look forward to accelerating the practice’s growth through her business development initiatives.”

Additionally, CAC Specialty welcomes Brian Clay as Executive Vice President and Practice Leader of Private Equity HCR. In this role, Clay will lead the team providing transaction advisory services to Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies, focusing on employee benefits support and identifying cross-portfolio value-creation opportunities.

“Brian’s appointment underscores CAC’s ongoing investment in industry best talent as well as targeted strategic sectors,” said Payne. “His expertise will further our mission of facilitating deals and operating with the speed and precision that our clients value most.”

In his previous role at an insurance brokerage, Clay built an employee benefits team in the Private Equity space to address transactional risks through due diligence and ongoing insurance management. He also excelled in numerous leadership positions at other leading national and global brokers during his 20 years in the insurance industry.

“The human capital risks and employee benefits challenges in Private Equity are an opportunity for us to support the transformation of portfolio companies. The need for a proactive, strategic, problem-solving partner and specialized employee benefits broker is critical,” noted Clay. “The Private Equity team at CAC Specialty has seen tremendous success, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to build upon the standout work of this practice.”
